BetterMed Urgent Care is committed to providing a safe environment for all patients and staff. As Coronavirus (COVID19) cases grow daily, we want to share with you several steps we are taking to increase safety. As always, our goal is to provide the best care possible while ensuring the safety of everyone in our sites, including patients, caretakers and our staff.
Starting March 22, we temporarily implemented a new patient screening process that starts with a short questionnaire each patient is required to complete BEFORE entering our facility. The questionnaire, which is designed to identify exposure risk, includes questions about contact with a person confirmed positive or under Department of Health monitoring for COVID19; recent travel and COVID19 symptoms (e.g., fever, cough or shortness of breath).
Depending on answers to these questions, we may have the patient register in the car and put on a mask before entering the facility. For any patient identified as high-risk, we will take the patient directly to an exam room reserved for high-risk patients. All staff who come in close contact with high-risk patients will wear personal protective equipment. Patients not deemed as high risk will register inside the facility and receive treatment in one of our other exam rooms.
We will continue to monitor daily developments and Center for Disease Control (CDC) and Department of Health guidance as we work through this challenging and unusual period. As this is a fluid situation, we will make additional procedural changes as warranted to ensure we are operating at the highest safety level.
We appreciate your support and understanding in this regard. With your cooperation and embracing of our new screening procedures, we are confident we will provide the best possible clinical outcomes and patient experiences.
